It’s the second most watched TV program in the world. Bigger than the Super Bowl. Second only to the World Cup final. A show that in some countries captures 90 percent of the TV viewing audience. A competitive event between countries where each country is striving for the world championship — in a song contest.
It’s the Eurovision Song Contest. Almost all countries in Europe sends an act. Each act is 3 minutes long (or less) and can be of any genre, any type of stage presentation, any type of music. The music is sung live with a limit of six people on the stage.
Eurovision has been known as one of the world’s most watched non-sporting events, with audience figures having been quoted in recent years as anything between 100 million and 600 million internationally.
Eurovision Song Contest 2017 is just around the corner. The finals night is scheduled on 13 May 2016, 21:00 CEST (14 May 2016, 3AM Manila time) and will be broadcast live from International Exhibition Centre, Kiev, Ukraine.
Eurovision fever has hit the Philippines and we would like to welcome all Eurovision fans based in Manila and neighboring cities to join us as we watch the finals night together.
The viewing party is open to the public and is scheduled on 13 May 2016, 11PM, at Taggo Bar along P. Tuazon Blvd, Cubao, Quezon City, Metro Manila. The entire finals show will be streamed live and will be shown on a TV screen for all guests to see.
