FREE Film Screening + music + Interactive Talk + poetry/prose + open mic/jam + FUNDRAISER
Conspiracy Garden Cafe
October 27, 2016
7:00pm
we are still hung over from our 5th anniversary gig and this seems to be the aftermath/sequel of last month's indulgence and, before anything else, PLUS would again like to thank ever-one who made PLUS 5.oh! one for the books.
now, this month is Indigenous People's month and we're hosting a FREE screening of the renowned documentary of Apo Whang-Od, Ang Babae Sa Likod Ng Mambabatok, by Director Lauren Faustino aka Diwa Malaya, who will be engaging in a Q&A with the audience immediately after the screening.
also, there will be a Baybayin Henna/Pen-Marker Tattoo activity to be facilitated by some of our caligraphy enthusiasts and professional inkers, while other events happen later on in the night.
as already mentioned, this feels like [+] 5.oh! all over again, because our friends from Yakapin Ating Kultura't Kalikasan Alay sa Lipunan - YAKAL and Freedom Art Society [FAS] are back with their awesome performances. of course, our usual PLUS performers will still be tthere with their surprises in the music and poetry sections, and they will be joined this time by newly-discovered talents.
speaking of new guests, we are thrilled to have the current president of the Philippine Astronomical Society, Inc., Leah Villalon, speak a bit about Technology and Astronomy for our Interactive Talk segment.
all of these we do for our humanistic advocacy of helping alleviate other people's plight, specifically for our current beneficiaries:
1-year-old Baby Brina, who needs to undergo open-heart surgery soon.
- parents: Obie Esquillo Mendoza & Nikko Mendoza
4- or 5-month-old Baby Anikka, who has already undergone open-heart surgery and yet still has a small hole left in her heart and needs to undergo another surgery when she's a few years older.
- parents: Muñoz Kristine & Toneng Bonayon
both of them need financial assistance for their medication, visits to their doctors, etc. a P100/head entrance fee for the music room will be charged on walk-in customers, except kids 12 years old and below, and all of the proceeds from entrance fees -- and cash donations, if any -- will be given to our beneficiaries, as usual.
