Predictive Analytics and Machine Learning in R & Azure is aimed at the person who wants to have a better understanding of the mechanics behind the models and how these models are realistically applied in the business setting. In addition to covering advanced machine learning techniques in depth, the course covers the management of stakeholder expectations during predictive analytics projects and analytics project management. Advanced machine learning methods are discussed in depth, including those used to win global data science competitions.
Taught using R and Azure, the course teaches techniques for handling and analyzing high volume business data. Real world projects from the DataSeer analytics consulting team are extensively used to illustrate how each model is used in the real world.
Some familiarity with R or Python (in the form of self study or an online MOOC) is recommended prior to starting the course. It is also recommended that participants have complated at least one 2nd year statistics unit at the university level.

Isaac is an Australian data scientist, company founder and TEDx speaker who lives, breathes and dreams data.
He is currently the Head of Data Science at Altis and Principal at DataSeer. Altis is Australia's largest information management consulting firm and DataSeer is a leading data science training provider.
A passionate data science educator, Isaac has lectured in analytics and statistical theory at the Australian National University and the University of Canberra. In his previous roles, Isaac has worked as a Data Scientist at leading data consulting firms including Datapharm, Quantium and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds a Master of Statistics from the Australian National University and has over 3,000 hours of training experience. He has delivered training courses in predictive analytics to leading companies in Silicon Valley, Australia, Singapore, New Zealand and the Philippines.
