Writing a story is one thing, but creating a world with its own creatures, rules, mythos? How does a writer create that imagined world? What are its necessary elements? How do you introduce an audience to your created world? What details could you leave out? And, more importantly, how do you build a story within that world?
How to Write Sci-fi/Fantasy is a six-hour crash course that will tackle those questions and more. By the end of the session, you'd be able to build your own sci-fi or fantasy story that's not just about dragons, vampires, dark forests or magic, but about letting humanity take center stage.
How to Write Sci-fi/Fantasy is taught by Dr. Joem Antonio. A playwright and published author, he has a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from UP Diliman and is an eight-time Palanca Award winner. He is currently the Director of the MA Humanities Program at the University of Asia and the Pacific.
