Introduction to Data Science and Machine Learning is aimed at the person who wants an introduction to data science / analytics with a strong focus on real world business applications. By the end of the course, beginners will be capable of building predictive models for a variety of business problems. Participants will also gain an understanding of clustering techniques and handling of big data.
Taught using R and Azure, the course teaches techniques for handling and analyzing high volume business data. Real world projects from the DataSeer analytics consulting team are extensively referenced to illustrate how each model is used in the real world business setting.
Some familiarity with R (in the form of self study or an online MOOC) is recommended prior to starting the course.

Isaac is an Australian data scientist, company founder and TEDx speaker who lives, breathes and dreams data.
He is currently the Head of Data Science at Altis and Principal at DataSeer. Altis is Australia's largest information management consulting firm and DataSeer is a leading data science training provider. At Altis and DataSeer, Isaac's team has built productionized machine learning models for the utilities, media and retail industries.
A passionate data science educator, Isaac has lectured in analytics and statistical theory at the Australian National University and the University of Canberra. In his previous roles, Isaac has worked as a Data Scientist at leading data consulting firms including Quantium and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He holds a Master of Statistics from the Australian National University and has over 3,000 hours of training experience.
