On January 28, 2017, I'll be launching my first book of poetry, called "All the Winters of My Body." For the many people who are unfamiliar with my work, most of the poems I've written are about longing, distance, happiness, melancholy, and several other feelings I attempt to describe. It sounds pretentious. Actually, it probably is pretentious to a degree, but I try very hard to "keep it real."
I'm holding it at a co-working space run by some really good friends. It's called WeCube, and it's located at Coherco Corporate Center, 4th Floor, Bldg., 116 V.A. Rufino St, Makati.
There will be drinks, pulutan, and poetry. Oh, there will be an open mic. Yes, I'll read some of my stuff. But I've also spoken to some younger writers who I admire, and they'll be reading their stuff too, plus they might also sell some of their books/chapbooks. I really hope all of you can go, have a drink with me, spend some time on stage reading a poem or singing a song, and maybe buy a book as well. The price is Php350.00 a copy. The paper's really nice, and the book has eight years of poems (both juvenile and less juvenile).
Everyone is welcome! People I know, people I don't know. I'm really excited about this. I think it'll be a good group, so please do drop by!
