Cajak at XX XX
Cajak, born in Hong Kong of a Filipina mother and French father, fell in love with electronic music when he was exposed to the UK drum n bass scene in the late 90s. Following a move to Tokyo in his early 20s, he was influenced by the excellent local Japanese house and techno DJs, and soon gained a monthly residency at Ageha, the city’s largest techno club at the time. He held event residencies at the legendary Space Lab Yellow and Womb Tokyo clubs due his versatility as a DJ able to move smoothly between house, disco, bass, and techno playing alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.
He is one of the founders of Rainbow Disco Club, a leading festival for electronic music in Japan where he acted as Music Director. In 2012, Cajak moved to Berlin drawn in by the techno mecca producing and curating art and electronic music events for the city of Berlin in Tokyo while developing a music search engine.
Cajak sees his role as facilitator in a modern form of tribal ceremonial dance. Since ancient times, humans have combined substances and music to go into trance through dance. His approach to music selection or production is faithful to that idea.
