Le Bézot du Quai Nord brings us on Charentais shores to help us to discover a beautiful family history, and the budding love of a young man for his missing father. Should we have to go for dramas to finally construct love between members of the same family? Here, the author gives us - between childhood memories and dramatic events - his thoughts on the genesis of filial love, and his pain seems brighter as and when it unfolds. The scars are all closing faster in salt water, they say, but in this book tends to swallow the characters and the feelings, as the ocean do. With this first novel, Michel Herbert takes the reader in a poetic and philosophical journey where emotion and humor meet. This is the second book by this talented author.
About the Author
Michel Herbert, a Niçois from the other side of the world, devotes himself to writing since he is a French language teacher in Manila, Philippines. During his childhood, he spent many summers on the Charentais coastline that he revisits for us. Autobiographical passages subtly mingle in this adventure novel. The portraits he does, as the artist he is in his new life, make us discover engaging and enigmatic characters.
