SPIA Asia – Asia’s Sports Industry Awards & Conference has quickly become Asia’s most credible and exciting awards and conference platform, attended annually by the biggest opinion leaders and influencers of the industry.
The profile of attendees is a strong representation of the industry from rights holders, federations, governing bodies, organizers, media agencies, and brands with an almost even split between buyers and seller in the room.
SPIA Asia 2018 saw over 100 brands, 90 rights holders, 70 media outlets, 40 international sport federations and 35 media agencies and many more participating.
The delegate profile consists of 35% senior managers, 17% directors, 12% owners, 14% C-level executives and 8% Vice Presidents.
47 countries eligible countries are represented at SPIA Asia with Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Japan, and the UAE being the Top 10 attending countries in terms of numbers.
2018 also saw a surge in media consumption, leading the way our 20 hours of Twitter live stream, 13mio in digital reach, 125k public votes and over 170k page views on the official website during the event.
Asia's leading sports business conference and awards platform, SPIA Asia – Asia’s Sports Industry Awards & Conference recognizes and celebrates Asia’s Top 10 in 25 distinct awards categories including the Asia's Best Sportsman and Asia's Best Sports Woman category, with Gold, Silver, and Bronze being awarded to the best performers.
Organized by MMC Sportz, SPIA Asia 2019 is held on 2-3 December at Grand Hyatt Manila, Philippines alongside the 30th SEA Games to celebrate the achievements made by the sporting industry in Asia. SPIA Asia incorporates a two-day sports business conference which brings together top regional opinion leaders from federations, rights holders, agencies, organizers, brands and government agencies. Over 60 international speakers and 600 delegates are expected to participate in the various networking events, workshops, panel discussions and keynote addresses on the following conference pillars:

The SPIA Asia Awards have become the most credible awards platform in Asia, focused on recognizing and celebrating the achievements of the Asian Sports Industry.
SPIA Asia 2019 features a total of 25 award categories: 3x Public voting categories, 4x Philippines categories, and 15x Asian categories. For the first time SPIA Asia will celebrate the “Best Asian Sports Man of the Year”, “Best Asian Sportswoman of the Year” and the “Best Asian Sports Team of the Year” to bring even more glamor and excitement to the event.
Past award winners range from the Australian Grand Prix, NBA, LaLiga, HSBC, WTA, World Badminton, Visit Victoria, Arabian Gulf League in UAE, Standard Chartered KL Marathon, with brands such as Nike, Adidas and Puma, and sports agencies Lagardère Sports and IMG also celebrating wins.
Each awards category is open to receive either nominations or written submissions from the 47 eligible Asian countries which are then judged by a panel of 35 leading industry experts in a rigid four-step judging process in accordance with international sports industry award rules and regulations.
Through this process SPIA Asia will identify “Asia’s Top 10” in each category, with Gold, Silver and Bronze winners being recognized at the traditional SPIA Asia black-tie awards gala evening, with over 500 guests in attendance enjoying an evening filled with live entertainment, celebrations and good food.
